Thoughts and Questions and Babbling and hitting F5

A few notes here. I'm redoing a lot of my pictures now that I am more comfortable with the new camera. So if you see blank pics, try hitting F5 or removing your cookies, they should all show up then. It's very important for me to show actual nail on the hand color, not show it to its best advantage (i.e. what it sparkles like under perfect lighting when you stick it right up against your eye). I want to show what it'll look like at the desk, fixing dinner, shopping, etc. I'm not here for glamour photography, really. The nail polishes shouldn't need my help to look beautiful. Of course I can never capture the full 3D effect of what it will look like on your hand. But I try my hardest for you!! I want to help you pick colors you will love.

Feel free to give me any criticism or tips or requests. Email me at polishmayhem@gmail.com!

Also a note on stuff I'll be swatching. What you WON'T be seeing is me running out to buy stuff I can get cheaper online just to swatch it, or well you won't ALWAYS be getting that, just sometimes. So I am late on things like OPIs a lot of them time, as they do not send me promo polishes. You'll be seeing most of the OPI mattes from me, but I am going to try to give you alternate ways to use them, not just display them in their already swatched by other people state. You won't be seeing Misa's collection from me for some time, as I think they're dead boring and I have to pay out of pocket for them. But I will be swatching probably 90% of Holiday collections because I freakin' LOVE the winter holiday polishes.

Anyway that's an update from me. I start school again Monday. Should be a light semester though, I have 12 credits of Psychology and 3 credits of Political Science.

  1. Good luck in school, I start in October. PS: Psychology is fun, that's what I did for my BSc. Can't wait to see the new swatches.

  2. I feel you on the buying of collections. I myself will only be buying what I want, probably not full collections, as I'm not interested in owning every single one of them, to me that's just a waste. I didn't see a single polish in the Misa collection I had to have, so I'm glad I'll be able to skip that. However, I've been seeing the sneak peeks of the holiday collections - those will be hard to resist!

  4. i feel you girl! swatching new colors can be difficult if you are on a budget and dont get 'em for free like some other bloggers. (that why i dont have a blog) ive seen some swatches of upcoming colors for china glaze opi (suede) and zoya winter collection, i am very impressed- i'm saving up.

  5. I love that you are not doing 'glamour photography'. I also agree with you about the Misa collection *boring*!

  6. I love your blog as it is, lady. I hope someday brands send you promo polishes - for now I don't mind your not posting the whole new collections: you post and swatch what you buy because you love it and I like it that way. It might happen they send you promo stuff though, the day they finally find out you're a nail polish authority! ;) I wish you that!

  7. There's nothing wrong with what your doing now. I really love your sharp and clear closeup photos. I don't want to see whole collections unless you want it so bad that you have to buy them all. I don't want anyone to go buy polish just because you have a blog. It would cost a freakin' fortune. Only buy what you want or what you already have. Nothing wrong with seeing some old polishes. As a matter of fact I would like to see old polishes. I didn't buy OPI's till a few years ago.

  8. your pics are great! once the companies start realizing how many of us love your blog, they will start sending you the goodies! because they will realize your pics make us want to get the polishes for ourselves! : )

  9. I love your blog!!
With your daily Zoya, Essie and ChinaGlaze you are constantly adding to my wish list, probably more than any other blog. It's lovely to see the polishes you like, on your fingers without too much fiddling and photoshopping. Just keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it soo well!! :-)
